Oddly enough, as a person of faith I'm indifferent, but I'm somehow offended as a literary critic.
Does the person of faith have that little to do with the literary critic? Or does the offense simply not extend beyond the walls of a particular set of methodologies? Or is there some other relational/structural at work between the two working identities/roles?
I guess I'm more forgiving doctrinally than in my professional discipline.
Or, put another way, I'm more willing to call someone a moron than a heretic.
And I have this thing about textuality...
