Andrew Nathanael Jones - Born: May 29, 2005

I'm pretty tired right now; my heart wants to wax poetic, but I lack the energy to fit the right words together to bring you into my current world.

Here's some of the story:

After 30 hours of initial contractions (!) Sarah went into active labor around 6:00 am. We went to the Beverly Birth Center where her contractions became quite a bit more intense--she went from 4-6 cenemeters within three or four hours there. She was bleeding a bit more than the midwives were comfortable with, so we moved over to the Hospital (which is right next door to the birth center). Then she entered the final and most intense phase of labor and pushed our crying, bloody, beautiful son into this world at 3:50 pm.

How can I describe the moment of birth to you? The agony of seeing my wife go though the most intense labor mixed with the extacy of seeing my son come, push by push, as first a small sliver of hair, then head, then shoulders, arms and legs. Incredible.

We spent two days in the hospital, and now we're home. Tonight's the first night in our own place with our own son.

As I said, I'm exhausted, and ready to sleep (we'll see how much I get!).

Life is such a gift; how incredible it is that we all began this way! Our God is so full of life and grace; may we never cease to wonder at the beauty and mystery of life!

You can see some pictures that my father-in-law took on his photo site...

More details coming soon!

Congradulations, Davey! I am very, very happy for you and Sarah. Send me an email sometime and tell me what little Emmanuel Glubby's real name is.

You know, I think that Dave looks more tired than Sarah does in this photo.

Nevermind about the name... I just checked his grandpa's picture site and found that out. It may not be glorbulous, but it's a great name anyways. Are you calling him by his first or middle name?

Congratulations Dave!

You beat my other friends by 26 hours for the title of 'first same-age friends of Stephen to have a baby'.

Maybe Glubby should be his nickname.

Wow, sorry that's you son! I shouldn't call him Glubby. Don't beat me up Dave.

You look more tired than Sarah. I've often thought women are like Hobbits, hardier than they may seem.

I'm rambling with excitement like a new father. !!!!!

Well, what else can you say to add to Steve's comments? Katie and I have been praying for you guys for weeks, waiting to hear the good news, and now--we're so happy for you (and we hope we can get out there to see you (and him) sometime soon).

Coye, did you miss the name in the title of my post? : )

We're calling him "Andrew" for now.

It's true, I do look more tired than Sarah; it's crazy how strong my wife is! I've learned more about her in the past 70 hrs. than I have in the course of the last few years. The Lord has so much grace on my life: giving me two such incredible companions.

Andy, when do you think you guys might be able come?

We'd love for anyone to visit; we've got a guest room with a queen size bed, so let us know if you're in the area and we'll hook you up!

Remember those Toyota commercials with the happy consumer jumping for joy...? That's how I feel for you and Sarah, Dave! Absolutely terrific! Praise be to God.

Yeah, Ok... so I'm both blind and a dumbass. But that doesn't take away from my enthusiasm and excitement for you and Sarah. In fact... I could just blame the whole thing on being too excited to read the title...

Dave and Sarah, CONGRATULATIONS! And I like the name. Mother and child both look beautiful. No wonder you're so happy Dave. I'm glad that everything happened without major complications. I hope that you can all get sleep in the days ahead.
