Proposal to Move

Proposal: Let's move our discussions to a Word Press format
Why? Because Word Press categorizes and sub-categorizes posts.
Imagine: Having a discussion that continues for more than a week.

How we would do this: Someone (*Cough* dusty) who has MySQL on their server would start the wordpress blog, tell us about the domain and upgrade us to posting status as we join. I'd be happy to move older posts from this blog over as a labor of love. I just really want to discuss through categories; it seems like the blogger format exagerates our natural propencity to forget, we need some nice catagories running along the right side telling us what discussions have been started.

So what do ya'll think?

I'm all for it--the move, I mean. I don't know about any of this other stuff.

yeah, that sounds good to me.

As long as we maintain participation and ease of use and are able to carry over the archives, then I guess I could be for it.

AS for the other stuff... well, let's just say that if you don't have anything else to do on a Wednesday night, you might try getting a little drunk and watching X-file re-runs. Uhhhh... gotta go...

Great, well, I'm dirt poor and I'm not going to be spending any money on a server that has MySQL (if you don't know what that is, don't worry about it)--even if it is just about four dollars a month at godaddy.com. I have a feeling that dusty already has a server with this database language, but dusty hasn't shown his face in these parts since he was featured in a much-hailed Greenspan video. So if someone want's to buy server space, I'll set everything up. Otherwise, someone should give that old dusty a call.

I checked his website the other day, and I think he might be changing posts right now, which would explain the absence from the blog.

Ok. I just arrived home from JRTC down in the swamps of Louisiana. I have been out flying and testing my battle skills in a simulated war environment, hence my lack of posts. As far as wordpress goes, it is already installed on my server. I experimented with wordpress, which is what marlett.net is currently using. There is a lot you can do with it, but Dave or someone else would have to be the administrator and designer. Let me know if you want to set it up on WheatonThunder.com
