Switching to Blogger Beta

My account wizard informs me that I can now switch my blogs over to bloggerBeta. After I research to make sure that group-blogs will still work the same way, I'm going to do it. We're going 2.0 baby! Consider yourselves told.

The Info
A team blog will only switch to Blogger in beta when the original owner moves his or her account over.

Team members who have not yet switched to Blogger in beta will still see the blog on their dashboards, but it will be grayed out and inaccessible. Once those members move their own accounts to the beta, they will be able to access the blog as before. If they can't yet switch, or don't wish to, they can ask the owner of the blog for a new invitation to join the blog on the beta version. They can then accept that invitation by logging in to or creating a Google Account to post to that blog. (Later on, when they do switch their Blogger account to the new version, they'll have an option to merge it with this account.)

If a team member of a blog switches their account to beta before the blog owner does, then the team blog is not converted. It will appear on the team member's dashboard in beta, but clicking on it will lead back to the old version of Blogger. Thus, the blog will still be usable, but without the new features of Blogger in beta (e.g. Labels, Layouts, etc.)

I'm not being given the option to switch, and I'm guessing that I will not be the only one. If you decide to go forward, I'll be locked out until you readmit me with a newly set-up account. I'd prefer we wait until everyone is actually allowed to switch over. I am afraid that we will lose a few actual contributors (this should not be taken as a personal threat) whose lives are too busy to go through what feel like extra hoops and ask why bother.

"The new version of Blogger is going to start out small, so only a low percentage of people who log in to Blogger will see the option to switch over. If you're one of them, you'll see a blue box in the sidebar of your dashboard highlighting the new version of Blogger."

well I have been too busy to switch the account, so I probably won't for a while. I wrote that memorandum while I was bored out of my mind at work and itching to switch over. That is no longer my situation as I neither have that job any longer nor am I itching to switch over.

But, that being said; making a new account in beta couldn't be an easier process. It takes all of one and a half minutes. You can make the screen name match your current one, only your username will have to be different. I'd I recomend you use your gmail account. If you don't have a gmail account, I would recommend you get one. But those are all recomendations.

But I will wait to switch until everyone has either set up a new account or found they have been given the option to switch over their account.
