What an amazing, bizarre, and strangely compelling site. Where do you people find these things. Thanks, Ryan.
PS--Anyone want to go in on one of those ideas with me...
I'm in on either the supernova or the strangelets.
Ryan, how does this site fit with giving up the internet for Lent? Cool site though.
If there is a personal connection to some link, I can check it out. My brother forwarded this one to me.
So, I'm driving to campus this morning, minding my own business, not even thinking about any crazy ideas about causing the destruction of our lovely planet, when I hear this story on NPR (http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=4520833), and I think to myself... this could be it. Bubbles hotter than the surface of the sun, made with sound waves...hmmm. Picture a giant ultrasound machine on the moon, pointed at the oceans on Earth. It has potential...
The logic of "Pinky and the Brain" seems to obtain in an amusing way in these discussions...
That was a great NPR story, Andy. It just goes to show you, though: you can leave Wheaton, but you can't escape the bubble.
So this story isn't exactly the end of the WORLD, but it does concern all of us here: (I'm going to attempt a link) link
